I have just noticed that when playing UHD2160 (H.264 MP4) clips in a FHD1080 timeline, with the Retime&Scaling/Scaling set to "crop" (to use the extra source resolution for virtual pan&zoom) and Clean Feed set to my secondary FHD display, the picture is slightly but visibly blurred and returns to normal sharpness as soon as I stop playback. I don't have this with (non-cropped) FHD clips.
I wonder if this due to the GPU decoding during playback (nVidia Quadro P2000/4GB) or if this is a 'feature' because the real-time scaling (actually NOT, since this is a FHD crop in a UHD clip).
In my current project, this makes judging the sharpness of the cropped pic more difficult, the real scene's sharpness being visible only when I stop playback.
Also, before finalizing my overall workflow for this first long (multicam, multi-res, 40+ hours of rushes) project with Resolve Studio, I would like to be sure the final output will be as sharp as possible.
(Resize filter is set to Lanczos, but changing this param doesn't change anything as there's NO resize in this case with a FHD crop in a UHD clip)
What is the cause of this ? Will it impact my final output ? Is there a way to keep maximum sharpness when playing back the FHD cropped UHD ?
Could it be controlled by one of the [many] settings found in the nVidia Control Panel ?
