Relink Audio After Cuts?

PostSun Nov 28, 2021 10:35 pm

I have made some cuts on a multicam timeline and after making my cuts, scrolled back through my timeline and found I had deleted audio by pressing the delete key to cut. Now my audio is out of sync and I have saved since the cuts were made.

Is it possible to relink the audio after the cuts are made in the multicam timeline?

Bump for one more try at a solution before starting over.

Can you extend the clips that are still there (drag from the edge of the cut to bring back the part that was deleted)?

You can't relink something that isn't there Jay, but you can pretty easily just match frame the video source and (re) insert the audio wherever you deleted it. If you set up your Auto Track Selector (and Track Locks) carefully, and use 'Selection Follows Playhead' to automatically make the clip selection, you should be able to quickly step through the cut, match frame (F) and insert (F9) to ripple everything back in to place as needed... or if its a more complicated mess then it may be quicker and cleaner to match frame at every cut and overwrite (F10) the audio back in for all the clips (rather than risk rippling something else out of place). It really depends on the cut but it shouldn't take much more than a few minutes work.
Let's have a return to the glory days, when press releases for new versions included text like "...with over 300 new features and improvements that professional editors and colorists have asked for."
