exporting resolution for 3d 360 VR

PostWed Dec 01, 2021 1:41 pm

I have been working on an 8k (7680x3840) 360 3d project. Everything is combined Left Eye Right Eye and I am trying to export my timeline to a Top Bottom File. If I render out as is with a 7680 x 3840 resolution both images get squashed as DR renders both TB images down fit within the 7680 x3840 frame.

If I change the output settings to 4096x4096 (which is what the final requirement is...I get a warning that I am effectively up rezing the vertical 3840 to 4096.

Should I just ignore? Is this a bug? Im about to kick off a 3 day render so don't want to screw it up!

Any help gratefully received

Don't fully understand what you have (2 eyes each 3840x3840 in single 8K frame already), but...
You will get an upscale and also aspect change. Resolve always warns when you do upscale on export, so this is normal.
You may need to fist compose eyes properly into single frame (Resolve won't do it for you?) and then export at your desired resolution.

2x uhd left eye right eye clips combined in the media pool then composited into a 2x 7840x3620 left eye right eye combine vr clip (used as a moving skybox.

My final delivery request is 5120*5120 tb 3D

Just simply compose both files into 5120x5120 as it's required (top/bottom) and export. You need Resolve studio for it.
