Have persuaded a friend of mine to migrate from Premiere Pro over to DR17.
He just bought a 16inch M1 Pro.
Looking over the software versions (M1) only mentioned for the base V17.
Should I advise him to install 17.4.2 straight off the bat?
Or V17?
BTW I run 17.4.2 on my iMac Pro..works really well.

Go with 17.4.2 which is the most current release.

The software is dual binary and it'll work natively on Intel or M1 Macs.
My new M1 Pro laptop flies with 17.4.2 build 9 and is very stable. Plus, it's rendering without the dreaded fan noise I got with my 2017 iMac.
