Resolve stopped to utilize my afterburner card

PostMon Dec 06, 2021 10:46 am

Hey,

I have a 2019 MacPro with 16 cores and the afterburner card, running 12.0.1 and Resolve 17.4.2.
Today I loaded a 6k Prores 444 clip into my timeline and noticed that it stuttered! Then I took a look at my CPU usage and saw this:

Full CPU usage, no afterburner usage at all. The little orange bit that you can see is from an earlier encode in compressor, where I had to convert the original Prores RAW file into the 444 clip for Resolve. So the card does work, also in FCP X the footage plays like butter and I can see how the AB is working while the CPU sits idle.

I already turned "use after burner if available" off and on several times, and restarted Resolve and the entire machine, but with no luck.

Anybody else noticed this or has any ideas how to solve this?

Update: I uninstalled and reinstalled Resolve, now it works again. Bizarre!
