Fwiw, I routinely deliver programmes from Resolve as MXF(OP1a) XDCAM HD422 using the built-in XDCAM MPEG2 encoder... I've personally never encountered any QC issues (with the encoding) at the network I deliver to, I just delivered 2 hours of original programming (ie cut from rushes) on Monday with no problem at all... all encodes had standards compliant fixed GOP structure (M=3, N=12), all sailed through QC...
... but there was a post here very recently from someone who had failed QC (at HBO) because their XDCAM encoding from Resolve showed a variable GOP pattern. I checked back over my exports from the last few months and they are all compliant except for a programme that was an acquisition ie one that I merely cut down to time and repackaged, not cut from rushes... that one showed a variable GOP pattern. It's not clear to me why there's any inconsistency but possibly it may be due to 'smart encoding', where pre-encoded media is copied direct from source (where possible) to speed up export, rather than re-encoded. I don't see an explicit setting for that in Resolve's delivery options but I do see it in Adobe's Media Encoder, so it's not impossible something similar is implemented. Regardless, as Uli noted, if you're dealing with a network/delivery partner that has issues with Resolve's native XDCAM encoder, the MainConcept encoder is a safe bet.
Let's have a return to the glory days, when press releases for new versions included text like "...with over 300 new features and improvements that professional editors and colorists have asked for."
