Compound and get originals

PostThu Dec 09, 2021 7:16 am

Hello, is there a way to combine (audio) clips with compound and get the original soundtracks? I'm thinking of something like the "audio mixdown" in AVID. There I can choose which audio tracks the new combined clip will be placed on.
This function makes work in the news business much easier.
Thanks very much.

An equivalent to Avid's Mixdown Audio to Sequence/Multiple Mixes function?

On the Fairlight Timeline a Bounce Mix to Track option is provided under the Timeline menu - this function uses Busses as the source and a new Audio Track as the destination on the current Timeline.

The Bounce outputs a Broadcast Wave files with file naming following the user defined Buss naming in the target directory as configured within the “Save clips to” field of the Capture and Playback section of Project Settings.

Alternatively, a Bounce Selected Tracks to New Layer function is available under the Timeline menu. Ensure that Timeline menu > Layered Audio Editing is enabled. This bounce function requires a Range to be defined.

The Fairlight Export Audio Files function accessed from the Clip contextual menu provides an export mechanism with an "Also add to Media Pool" option in the export dialog.
