DaVinci Resolve Stuck In Background Processes

PostWed Jan 19, 2022 12:54 am

Hey, My Davinci 17.4 has stopped working for months and I gave up on trying to fix it until recently I had nothing else to do.
Whenever I run Davinci I make it to the project selection screen, but when I try to click and
run one of my projects, it doesn't appear and just sits in my task manager in background processes.

I've tried the following,
- Unplugging my USBs.
- Reinstalling the current version and older versions (1.4 to 1.4.2).
- Used the Compatability Trouble Shooter.
- Turning off the background processes on windows settings.
- Disabling Windows Firewall.
- Updating Nvidia Graphics and swapping to Nvidia Studio Drivers.

I've seen this a few times since upgrading to 17.4 - but I found that if I wait long enough (around 5 minutes?) after clicking on the project thumbnail it will fire up and act as if nothing had happened.

We need the system info in the form of an NFO file.

Open the Windows System Information app, and select File - Save to create the .NFO file.

Currently, in Resolve Preferences - System - Memory and GPU, you have manually selected OpenCL.

It needs to be set to Auto, ideally, or CUDA.

Your system info says you have a display connected to the onboard Intel iGPU.

All displays MUST be connected to the GTX1050 card.

Once you have Auto GPU processing mode selected and displays only connected to the GTX1050, if you still have an issue, send another Resolve log and NFO file.
