Keeps crashing on render

I'm running davinci v17 (not the very latest release but the one before that).

16gb ram and lots of free hard drive space. Separate graphics card with dedicated gpu memory (not sure how many gb but the system was baught for the kids so they could play all the latest games).

When I try to render my project the application "terminates unexpectedly" and offers to send a crash report (which I usually ignore).

I can't seem to get past this point, tried 10 times with the same results. Rebooted the computer between attempts to. Tried it both with render cache on and off.

No other applications running simultaneously (not from other users either).

Is there a way to resolve this/see a log file of what went wrong?

I have a hard time believing my system is too weak. The total length of the complete video is 30 minutes. A composition of 7 smartphone recordings in 1080p and a separate soundtrack. Two still images and a number of text overlays spread evenly across the time lines. I have also tried to render in 720p to see if that puts less pressure on the system, same results.

I ended up rendering on a different machine (MAC). Really disappointing thought that the PC couldn't do it. Might revert to VideoPad over issues like this =(

I ended up doing a 'render in place' per clip/group of clips or nested timelines.
Intel i7-12700, 32 Gb, Corsair watercooling, 1 ssd for OS and NLE, 1 ssd for projects, 2x harddisk for archiving, NVidia 3080. Windows 11 2x 4k screen. Mainly 4k clips

Mattias, the GPU is one of the important parts of the system with Resolve so to help you we need to know what it is and how much vram it has. Also what driver version. The more information you can give about your system the better.
Phone footage can be a problem in Resolve because of its variable frame rate.
