Render in place changes aspect ratio.

PostSun Jan 23, 2022 8:23 am

As title says...
Working on a 4:3 timeline and "render in place" (quicktime renders in 16:9 and thus leaves me with a stretched clip in the timeline. Ofcourse I could correct this in the inspector, but it would be nice to find a magic button to render it in the correct aspect ratio before dropping it in the timeline.

EDIT: On further inspection; this only happens in DNxHD..... So codec related!

Hi Robert,

I appreciate that your post is from nearly a year ago but I just found it by searching for the same problem. I'm working on a project that is 9:16 aspect ratio and getting the same distortion problem using the Quicktime render in place.

Thanks for the update regarding the codec issue. I too have found that if I render as MP4 then it works fine.
