Resolve to Fairlight remote workflow

PostThu Jan 27, 2022 2:27 am

Is there a workflow in Resolve to export a project specifically to be used in Fairlight remotely?
It would contain the picture locked timeline–but with reduced video file sizes–yet contain all the production audio in addition to the timeline files? At the moment, exporting an AAF and supporting video clip works well enough, and there's no need to access a shared server. Ideally, exporting a project with fully-loaded audio bins would be amazing. I'm looking to switch from Pro Tools to using Fairlight; there are some really nice features including the flexibility to change track types, for example, that are gold for dialog editing.

Look in to Resolve's Media Management tool.

Open the Media Pool panel > File menu > Media Management.

Options are available to Copy or Transcode All Media or only Used Media for the Entire Project, Timelines, or Clips.

Rushes and other source media may be organised across a specific Bin structure in the Media Pool and included in the target directory even if not used in Project Timelines. An option is available to preserve path hierarchy with folder levels to prevent a flat target media folder.

File menu > Export Project (Command + E) and save the Project with the same path as the media bundled via the Media Management tool.

Refer to:
