First 14 cores Laptop reviews with RTX 3080 Ti.

PostThu Jan 27, 2022 12:22 pm

Hi.

The MSI Raider GE76 with the i9-12900HK and GeForce RTX 3080 Ti for Laptops, have been reviewed several places on the internet. Here are just links to two of them:

Intel Alder Lake-H Core i9-12900HK Review:

https://www.anandtech.com/show/17223/in ... oes-hybrid

MSI GE76 Raider Review: Intel Core i9-12900HK and RTX 3080 Ti Tested:

Now we are only waiting for the first review with DaVinci Resolve.

Regards Carsten.

Proper hardware decoding for h.265 422 would be awesome. Probably the biggest reason to upgrade if you were on a 2080 laptop.

I wish we would get some leaks on 40 series Nvenc. If Nvidia isn't going to pull their heads out of their butts with codec support, Intel 12th gen is really the only option.

Actual render speeds probably won't be much different between equal wattage 3080 and 3080ti

My 150W 16gb 3080 with a 5800h is completely GPU limited on exports. CPU is only at 40%. So I would not expect significant Resolve performance gains 5800H vs 12900HK (outside of quicksync)

Memory support could be a huge regression though. Gigabyte only shows support for 16gb sticks of ddr5. So you will limited to only 32gb of system ram. Vs 64gb for DDR4 machines
