Dual Screen Option Greyed Out

I have two displays on the same GPU, but I can't get DaVinci Resolve 18 Beta 2 to choose Dual Screen On.

PC Specs:
OpenSuse Tumbleweed
Radeon RX6700XT
Primary monitor: HDMI
Secondary monitor: Display Port (rotated 90 degrees to portrait)

Both monitors are working as expected for the desktop. But when I go into Workspace > Dual Screen my only option is On but it is greyed out.

Clicking on "On" does not make it active.

Under Workspace > Primary Display I see two options.
HDMI-A-1 (with checkmark)
DisplayPort-0

It used to work on DaVinci Resolve 17 with a GeForce 1070 video card.

Any help would be appreciated.

You are a genius!

Every tab except cut and deliver make use of dual screen and allow you to click the option 'ON'.

Thanks

Dual screen is only available if Resolve thinks there are multiple displays available.

I have to assume that you really do have more than one display, or you wouldn't be trying to turn on dual displays. But Resolve must not see that. Are both displays on a common GPU? Or is one of them perhaps a virtual display of some sort?

If you can provide a Resolve diagnostics log (Resolve Help menu), that could be helpful.

hello Dwaine - thank you for your response. Common GPU yes. I have 2 monitors. Left is 1 , right is 2.

I did "Create Diagnostics Log". There are numerous files. I attached one file and got:The extension log is not allowed.

What do I do now.

thanks again,
Lyman

Place the full logs as generated by Resolve on a shared storage drive, like dropbox, and post a link here with a space in the path.

As expected, Resolve only sees one display.

Please open the Windows System Information app, then select its File - Save menu, which will generate a .NFO file, and send that.

hello - After attaching .nfo I got:

The attachment’s file size is too large, the maximum upload size is 2 MB.
Please note this is set in php.ini and cannot be overridden.

Like the log file you need to put the NFO on a file sharing site and post a link.

Open Windows Device Manager, select Display Adapters, and right click the VirtualMoniter Device and select Disable.

Now launch Resolve and see what it does.

I found that if you connect to a second monitor after booting up DR it sometimes greys out the dual screen option. Simple check would be to restart DR whilst tethered. Worked for me :)

The monitors need to be connected before starting Resolve so it can see them when booting.
