Timeline nodes indicator?

PostThu May 19, 2022 2:20 am

Hello, y'all. Brand new here. Cheers!

Is there any visual indicator that a Timeline has active nodes? I've noticed that the color page opens default to Clip Nodes rather than Timeline Nodes, and it would be very easy to forget that adjustments have been made at the timeline level.

Thanks in advance!

No, as far as I know there isn't a flag or a readout that warns the user that a Timeline Grade was applied. I think you also can't tell if a shot has a Pre-Clip or Post-Clip Group grade applied, either -- you just have to right-click and check.

Best practice is to search first, to see if someone already asked. If not, post one idea per thread with a very brief description of the idea in the thread's title.

It's a little hard to see, but if there's a Pre-Clip / Post-Clip Grade / Timeline Grade on a specific clip, then four dots appear at the very top of the gray bar in the node window. But it's subtle -- you have to look for them. Click on each dot, and you'll move to a different kind of node tree.

Those four dots only help indicate that Groups are used, though. Without groups, we always get 2 dots, Clip and Timeline.

Not sure that can help indicate a timeline grade at a quick glance.
