Do compound clips still have access to the raw data?

PostSat May 21, 2022 10:29 pm

Quick question. If I have a long BRAW clip on my timeline and I chop it up into a bunch of smaller clips then I turn each clip into a compound clip - would any color adjustments I make to those compound clips make use of the data in the raw file or does turning a clip into a compound clip discard all that data and treats it as a standard non BRAW file?

Resolve is non-destrutive so your Braw files will never be cut edited etc. When you make a compund clip it takes every thing inside of that compound clip and makes a proxy of it and uses that. Your edits will work on it. You can decompose the compund clip and go back to editing the raw files directly. I believe if you create a compond clip and then render it will go back to the original raw file for the render.
