Linux audio Plugins - Using Carla / Yarbridge to host VSTs

PostMon May 23, 2022 6:51 am

Hello
Running Linux has many advantages, but when it comes to audio plugins, it seems to be the dark age. I see this with all the Linux DAWs. A similar experience with Reaper made me discover Carla & Yarbridge, VST plugin hosts that use WINE to run Windows VSTs.

Both are easily installed in Reaper and work well for me.
Has anyone tried to get these solutions working with Fairlight / Resolve?

No, but virtualization with GPU pass-through has come such a long way. Consider if it is really worth your lifetime messing around with that instead of just booting a VM with GPU pass-through to run whatever you need on Windows.
