Flickering line on bottom of video

PostMon Jun 20, 2022 4:24 pm

With the new version (17.4.6 Build 4) I am getting a flickering line on the bottom of each video output, tried QuickTime H.264/265 and MP4 H.264/265 rendering, then played back with QuickTime player and VLC, also tried it on different screens to eliminate a monitor issue. Checked older videos created with an older version, they don't have this problem. Anyone else also had this problem? Is there a thread on this already? Thank you!

Can you share one of the problem files?

I ran it through HandBrake and changed it to MP4, try same link again, if doesn't work please do a 'save link' then QT or VLC should play it but I tried Safari and Firefox, both played it.

Got it.

Try these settings, changing Resolution, Frame rate and Keyframes accordingly.

Report back.

Let's wait a few days, I am getting a new M1 Pro MacBook Pro machine (already on order) and will see if that will make a difference. I'll report back after testing on the new laptop. Thank you!

Got my M1 Pro and tested this again, this is not an issue anymore, tried couple of videos with different resolutions, no flickering on any of them. Wondering maybe the 'old' AMD Radeon Pro 555X card just couldn't handle it anymore in the 2018 Intel based machine?

Either way glad to have an M1 Pro with like twice the speed and also nice to see Resolve 17 running native on the M1 chip!
