Trying to import huge TIF still image as media

I want to animate pan and zoom into a still photo that I have blown up to a huge size (24000x15000) using Topaz Gigapixel AI for this purpose. The image is a TIF that is about 1,63 GB in size. Resolve 18 Studio is said to handle 32K resolution, but when trying to import this image into my timeline, my Mac crashes and restarts even though I have 64 GB of RAM. The image is nothing secret (a drone photograph taken in a public place), so if you want to reproduce the problem, I can share it. I'd love to see the use of such huge photos working in the final version. Presently, I have to switch to a Windows PC with another NLE that can grok the huge image, make the pan and zoom there, export as a movie, and import this back into Resolve. This is some solution, but clearly not the one that is awarded full marks.

I’ve only seen Linux systems with 48GB GPUs handle images approaching that size.
Half the res and give that a try but u will still need a very big GPU.

What did you use?

If you share a link for your file, I would like to test on my Windows machine (swisstransfer.com is pretty good for sharing files)

i will NOT try to import the image as is, but using fusion have a loader into a compositing and use the fusion pan/scan capabilities to generate the final you need..

you might have a fighting chance...
