3 button mouse

PostSat Aug 13, 2022 5:38 am

On a number of videos on color grading I noticed the use of a 3 button mouse to copy formats on one or all of the frames edited.
An Apple Magic Mouse does not have 3 buttons. (Yes, I know you know that)
I have also read reviews on 3d party work around apps for the 3d click. Some got very bad reviews.
So, I am asking what is an acceptable solution to this problem.
Thank you.

Very simple: any three-button mouse for PC will work, even the wireless ones which use Bluetooth.
I’m using an ergonomic one for about 25 bucks and love it. I don’t care for that designer crap from Apple (yes, my machine is great).
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

I favor the new style of vertical mouse. ;)
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

For more than 10 years, I've used the (very cheap & simple) HP X500 wired 3-button optical mouse. Works great. It's the only thing I can use on a Mac to draw power windows and masks and so on. I have 4 or 5 more, unopened in a closet, just in case I need one some day. They're maybe $10-$12 apiece.

A decent gaming mouse will have finer movement control. Look for one with a high DPI setting. It makes fine adjustments MUCH easier! Some have programmable extra buttons too!
