Bug in Fairlight? Resolve doesn't save.

PostThu Aug 18, 2022 11:15 pm

Hello. I have the latest version of Resolve on the latest version of Monterey.
When I try to copy and paste the settings (above all, the enabled plugins) of "Bus1" of a certain timeline to the "Bus1" of another timeline (in Fairlight), not only does it not paste them, but immediately after trying this operation I'm unable to save the project. The autosave disappears, CMD+S doesn't do anything, nor does the related menu option and, when I try to close Resolve, I'm stuck in a loop where the program asks "Would you like to save before closing?", I click on "Save", it doesn't do anything and it doesn't close the program either (I would have to click on "Don't save" to exit).
This behavior is only triggered after trying to copy and paste the settings of Bus1 in Fairlight. Before that, I can save just fine and the auto-save works as intended.

Is this a reproducible test case? If so can you upload the project too cloud storage and post a link here along with the exact steps to make it happen? That'll give BMD enough info to find and fix it.

I'm unable to reproduce this.

Copying a bus in Fairlight from the Edit menu does not allow anything to be pasted into a new bus on a different timeline.

However, if I define a preset in Fairlight based on the bus settings (including plugins, etc), and apply the preset to the new bus in the new timeline, all plugins and settings are transferred over, and work.

Fairlight -> Presets Library - select Global Bus Presets and save your original bus setup here, then go to the new timeline and select the bus, and apply the saved preset to it.

In the latter case, save still works and the system functions normally.

Could you be more clear (step by step) as to how you are copying/pasting settings from the bus in one timeline to the bus in the other one?
