Steam Deck & Resolve

PostFri Aug 19, 2022 8:24 am

Has anyone, successfully, put their copy of Davinci onto their Steam Deck?
If so, do you have a youtube video, (step by step), or want to make one?

* If you dont have a Steam Deck... oh, man did GabeN hit this one out the park!

Thanks! :D

This guy is using it.

I have used the MX Master mouse for a long time and I built up a good shortcut map on my keyboard. I feel I have all I need. My next try will be a G600, Scimitar or a Razer Naga Trinity.

Good luck!

Completely different thing Davy.
Steam Deck is a portable gaming system that runs on an Arch Linux OS variant.

Dalen is a big fan and has posted before about his desire for a Steam OS / Steam Deck version.

Its effectively an Arch Linux based mini PC with USB-C connectivity, albeit in 'console' form ... I assume Dalen envisions using it to run Resolve. It wouldn't be what I would choose but, as I say, he's a big fan and if he wants to give it a go then more power to him! :)

Yes???
I think... Hard to say. I never used Resolve on linux, especially arch but it does run and install. cant seem to get video out in the monitor for pro res nor standard h264. I tried this for all of 5 minutes as I got a 3080TI rig for this, but saw your post and thought I would give it as shot. Im sure its something to do with codecs on linux.

Sorry to bump such an old thread.

But how did you get it working? I downloaded the installer directly from Blackmagic, it installs fine but there's no desktop entry to launch it.

And even if I create a desktop entry myselft, it's still not possible to run the application.
If you could tell us what you did, that would be great... Thanks!
