Major Bug: Add clip to a group causes it to switch to v1

PostMon Sep 19, 2022 10:43 pm

This is a pretty major/weird bug in R18.0.2. If you have a clip with two or more versions, and it is set to any version other than 1, adding it to a group OR removing it from a group will cause the version to switch to version 1. These are all local versions.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Create two or more versions for a clip on the Color page
2) set the clip to a version that is not version 1
3) add the clip to a group

Expected: The clip's version remains the same
Actual: The version is changed to version 1

This is a huge awful bug for anyone who uses both versions and groups. Can someone else test this and confirm?

Thanks!
Robert

I just did some more testing on another machine and confirmed the following:

The bug does NOT exist in 18.0.1, but DOES in 18.0.2 and 18.0.3.

Reported to support, who were able to reproduce it locally, so hopefully will be fixed in the next update.

It was very gratifying to send an email to BM support, get an email back (within an hour!) from Dwaine telling me it was reproducible by them, and then have the fix come in the next version, less than a week later!
