adjustment clip

I need your expertise. I was using an older version of Davinci Resolve 16 and loving it. I did something and now I cannot put a title box or adjustment clip onto the track 2. It lets me drag it out of the toolbox and when i get to the timeline it adds a second track automatically but the mouse cursor turns to a circle with a line through it. Like saying you ain't gonna put that title here. My adjustment clip does the same. It does not make the box on the timeline anymore. Can anyone help.

Try another track?
Restart?

make a new timeline - copy old clips into new timeline .... maybe
upgrade to R18

I have been dealing with this for a year now. Thank you guys for the reply. I have updated to the newest 18 and it still does the same thing. I open a new timeline and it does the same thing. I have restarted a lot. It seems to give me the little box with the arrow, the one you get when it is telling you that it is ok to lay down you effect, only when I'm not in the timeline. When I get over any track the cursor turns to a circle with a line throw it.

( I found the solution to the problem I was having. Some how in the settings I had adjusted the length of the effects to 0:00. So I could not drop the effect because it was set to 0 duration. Hope this helps someone.
