Waves Clarity vx with Windows 10 and Resolve 18.0.3 doesnt w

PostWed Sep 28, 2022 6:15 pm

Hello,
Waves Clarity vx with Windows 10 and Resolve 18.0.3 dont work. I can load the Plugin but there is no Grahical Surface like from Clarity to change Values, it popup on the Input and not at the Effects shown in the attached picture.
BTW clarity works fine in Abelton Live.

Anyone knows help?

Thank you for any help.

Does the VST3 version load as an insert effect or does it also load as an instrument?

Is Windows scaling to set to 100%?

Windows scaling is 100%.
I told Resolve where the Plugin locations are,
all other Vst Plugins are working fine.
As you see in the attached pict on the mixer on the right side clarity-vx is loaded to the input

I've had nothing but trouble with the v18 dot releases. Went back to 18 and everything works perfectly, including Clarity vx. I haven't bothered with .3 so I don't know if this will solve the issue.

In the Tech Specs for Clarity it is not shown as being supported by Resolve in either Mac or Windows.

Clarity is the only Waves plugin I have, and it's a resource hog on Resolve. Not sure if it's the algorithm or the architecture ("waveshell") they use, but more than one instance bring my relatively powerful computer to it's knees.

If I stick to using it on one track at a time (disabling the plugin and insert chain elsewhere), it's pretty reliable.

That said, it's a really amazing plugin!

Cheers,

In Preferences/System/Audio Plugins is Clarity shown as having Loaded successfully?

What is the path that should be put in the preferences page? I cant get it to work either. In the preferences page it says that Clarity VX failed to load. So I don't know if I have the incorrect path or it is not compatible with 18.03

Anthony, from your screenshot it looks like the "failed to load" message is specific to the older VST version (2.4).

The VST3 versions (listed directly above) both seemed to load ok, and should be available under the "Restoration" submenu of your plugins in the mixer dropdown effects menu.

Let us know if not.
