How can i simply edit in HDR?

PostWed Sep 28, 2022 7:19 pm

Hi to everyone,

I'm a filmaker base on italy, i would like to deliver my content in HDR and SDR to clients but till now looks very complicated to me. I'm shooting in A7siii and i have a macbook pro m1 max 16' and a benq pd2700u basically.

Somebody knows how to simply shoot in Slog3 and upload edited video on youtube that can be seen in SDR on SDR monitor and HDR on HDR monitor? How is the workflow to do this process? How can i give a video to a client that can be seen in SDR or HDR depend on his monitor? could i use HDR10 or HDR10+ ? can i edit everything in davinci and my m1 max 16' monitor?

Somebody knows a easy guide on how to do it? I mean is easy, i want deliver in SDR and HDR at the same time in a easy workflow, somebody can help me?

Thanks very much for your time.

Hi man,

I tried in a 1000 different way to export in HDR but all the time i export the result is different from my timeline, all colors looks washout and low contrast, I send you the link where you can see the difference.

Really i tried everything, all setting that are possibile but the renderd versione is alwaus low contrast comprared to timeline. I think there must be a problem somewhere in the software, can not be so complicated.

Your images are too small. I can't see details.

Have you turned on Use 10-bit precision and Use Mac Display profiles in the Resolve General Prefs for starters? What reference mode are you using for the display?

The sample screenshots do not look like HDR at all - everything looks washed out. Can you post something that has some good colour and contrast instead.
