Resolve to Resolve on different Machine (issues)

PostSat Oct 01, 2022 2:18 pm

Hello all,

I usually finish projects on the same machine, but sometimes I have to move to another computer and that’s when the issues come in.

I have a project edited & graded in Resolve (17.4.3) on an iMac 2020.
Then I moved to an iMac Pro with the same version of Resolve and suddenly my resizes are all over the place and some grading nodes seem to not work correctly (like masks and tracking).
I have the project on an SSD and used this same drive on the iMac Pro.
I exported a .drp on my main machine and imported it on the iMac Pro.
The edit consists of MP4 (H.264) and MOV (ProRes) files.

Did I go wrong somewhere? Or is this a known issue?
What’s the best way to move from one machine to another?

Thank you!

Actually, moving .drp exports is the way to go. I've never seen such a problem (only some tracking getting lost on the same machine, PC by the way). Are these both Studio versions?
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

Yes, I forgot to mention that.
Both are Studio versions.

I had the same problem again.

Different project. This time it originated on an iMac Pro with Resolve Studio (17.4.3) and moved to another iMac Pro (same model & setup) with Resolve “Lite” (17.4.3).

It screwed up all the resizes. I didn't use any Studio-specific features in the project.
