Selecting timeline icons in media pool: causes freeze

PostSat Oct 01, 2022 7:46 pm

Any idea why certain timelines cause Resolve to hang--I get the spinning rainbow ball for up to a few minutes--when I simply click on them? The same happens when I try to close them by clicking on the little "x" in the timeline panel tab.

The issue is only with certain timelines that were created by duplicating an original timeline, but it's impossible to discern at what exact point the problem originated.

I've tried to resolve the issue by making a new timeline and pasting in the contents of a "bad" timeline to no effect.

Working on a M1 Max Macbook Pro and using an external SSD striped RAID. 32gb memory. Using Resolve 18.01.

I'm trying to figure out what the issue is and also how to resolve it without reconstructing the entire timeline shot by shot. THat would take forever.

Any suggestions for a fix would be appreciated.

UDPATE: Izotope RX10 plugin causes very slow timeline load/h

PostSun Oct 02, 2022 8:41 pm

In case others are interested: I isolated the problem: a handful of clips with Isoztope RX10 Repair Assistant effects applied (used the plugin, not the standalone app) has caused this problem. Disabling the clips or deleting the effect completely resolved the problem.

Any suggestions for managing this?

I realize I could use the standalone app, but it's nice to work within Resolve. I guess I could disable the effects while editing, but that's a PITA to disable and re-enable, etc. when needed.

I didn't know such a list existed, so I am not sure.

Ask the manufacturer.
