Resolve dongle

PostMon Oct 03, 2022 12:00 pm

I have a resolve studio dongle on my pc workstation. However this week I will be traveling and bring a MacBook Pro with me. I have some DR work to do using the MacBook and need to have DR Studio on it. Since I won’t be using my pc workstation and it will be powered off, can I take the dongle and put it on the MacBook so I can use DRS and when I get back from my trip return the dongle to the PC? Will that even work? If anyone tried this before, please share your experience and any tip I might need to know. Thanks.

Yes, you can do that's, that exactly how it works. And yes, my dongle moves between systems if / when necessary without issue.

This is the very point of the dongle - you can use it on any system. ;)
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Thank you Gents.

BTW, when you move the dongle from one computer to another, do you have to unregister the license from the DRS on the computer being taken out and register the license to the DRS on the computer your using the dongle every time the switch occurs?

No, you don't have to do anything, in fact there's nothing you can do. Just move the dongle.

(for those with an activation key instead of a dongle, yes, then you can unregister if you want)

Make sure you test the dongle with an USB-C adapter before the trip. ;)
The Apple adapter should work.
