Clips won't load onto timeline???

I'm thinking that I've mucked up a setting somewhere but don't know what.

I'm remote logging into my mac and assembling cuts in the Edit window when now if I mark a clip from a file and drag it onto the timeline only the audio pastes itself to the timeline. I cannot seem to get the video to drop on the timeline.

What have I mucked up this time?
