Colour quality from current hardware.

How to I get the best colour quality in a project, out of the hardware I have when editing in Davinci Resolve Studio 17?

Cameras x2.... 1 of each.
Samsung S20 and S20FE
Camera Settings
Photo 3:4 Video 9:16
Auto HDR ON
Auto Focus ON

Monitors x2 LG 27UL500-W Picture set to HDR effect connected to computer using Display ports.
Both monitors are connected to the first video card in the system.

PC setup
Davinci Resolve Studio 17
5900x | 128GB memory running at 2933
2 TB Kingston nvme | 2x MSI Ventus 3090s
EVGA 1300 | External drives WD blue 4TB x4
Windows 11 Pro 22H2| Davinci Resolve Studio 18
Ryzen 9 5900x | MSI X570 UNIFY
Kingston Fury 3200mhz 128GB set 3000mhz | KINGSTON KC3000 2TB KINGSTON NV2 2TB

To get good color "quality" first requires accurate monitoring. What calibration are you doing on the monitor? That's what counts.

LG drivers and colour profile is installed.

Monitors are set to HDR effect in Picture options.

That is all I have done with that.

So I found this as you mentioned calibration

I will try it when I get home.

I would use an X-rite calibration tool and the free DisplayCal software. If you have DataColor Spyder5 Elite or Pro, you can use that with DisplayCal too however I think that most folks here prefers X-rite.

I also recommend calibrating your monitors every couple of months or at least at the beginning of every serious grading project.

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Jim, you still need calibrated monitors with or without this device.

yes, but you can't grading HDR without a video I/O and a hardware calibrated HDR monitor for real.
