How to animate gradient window rotation correct orientation?

PostFri Oct 07, 2022 7:39 am

I have corrector with power window that has a gradient. I want to rotate this gradient as my clip progresses, so I added a keyframe to beginning, positioned my gradient:

Then, at the end of my clip, I add another keyframe and position my gradient by rotating it:

However, when I play the clip, the gradient rotates almost a full turn from the opposite direction instead of smoothly animating, probably because of wrapping around 180/-180 degrees (which is clamped so I can't set beyond):

How can I "force" it to move in the correct direction? I've tried putting a keyframe in the middle of the timeline and correcting the orientation, but then whenever it passes the -180/180 boundary between two keyframes, it jumps and rotates wildly again.

You must manually keyframe the two frames around the flip point.
