18.1.1 sound playback jumps

PostFri Nov 25, 2022 2:13 pm

Hi,

After I updated to version 18.1.1 Studio the sound playback jumps very often not reproducing parts of the track. It's a completely random phenomenon throughout the track, not the same each time is played.

It didn't happened with the last version, same project, same files, same location on disk.

UPDATE

It happens when any effect, even simple one like compression, is active on the track.

Is this behaviour on the Edit or Fairlight Timeline?

Both, but I noticed that it happens only when some effect is on the track, even just the track compressor.

I've also been experiencing this issue. Audio on the timeline that has any EQ or compression done to it suffers from random dropouts at the beginning of playback for around a second. Sometimes takes multiple attempts to play back the same clip before the dropout stops.

Do you have the 'play all video frames' option selected in the timeline viewer? If so, try disabling this option and see if that makes a difference.

I noticed that even with one audio clip. I got other 40 tracks ready in the timeline, but empty, the clip was on one of the tracks with a Fairlight track compressor active.

On the video side I have 5 tracks, all .braw with no effects or color applied yet.

Same for me, it's a very disturbing issue...
