Clean Feed Possible Bug

PostThu Dec 01, 2022 11:21 am

Dual monitor windows 10, Studio 18.1.1
Might be a bit specific - someone with this setup might want to check. I prefer my primary monitor on my right (monitor 2) with clean feed on monitor 1 on the left. In this setup clean feed "none" doesn't turn off clean feed. Works normally with monitor 1 as primary and clean feed on the right. Worked as expected up to v18. If it doesn't get fixed guess I could just get used to clean feed on the right.

I like to have my primary view on the right as well. The main difference between us is that my righthand monitor is set as no.1 in the Nvidia control panel, so with that chosen in Resolve as the Primary, this is what I see.

I then select the Eizo on the left (shown as the Generic monitor) in the Video Clean Feed menu.

I only use the Video clean feed when using the Color page. Other times I change the Primary monitor in Resolve to my Eizo which is on the left. In this case this is what I see.

Just to add to the illustrations, this is the Color page with Video Clean Feed, and the Fairlight page with enlarged floating viewer window.

Just to clarify - if you have clean feed on monitor 1, in 18.1.1 you can't turn the clean feed off (set it to none) from the menu.

Thanks Charles, designating your left monitor as monitor 2 is a workaround, but might not fit with workflow in other apps and if this is the case cumbersome to just switch every time you use Resolve. Floating your main page to monitor 1 will kill the clean feed, but it takes your hands off the keyboard (I had custom keys for this function), plus you can't float in a full screen window.

FWIW, due to the issue being raised on this thread: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=172044

I had a look on my dual display system, and I NOT have this issue using Resolve Studio 18.1.1 with an NVIDIA GTX1050Ti and driver Studio 516.94.

However, I'm still running Windows 10 build 20H2 on this system. For some reason. So I wonder if this could be related to a new Windows build?

Unfortunately, as best I can see, no one reporting the issue has mentioned their specific Windows version and build number, or NVIDIA driver version.
