Audio Clicks when Sidechaning with DDMF Metaplugin

I am getting audio clicks in Resolve while testing VST sidechaning using the demo version of DDMF Metaplugin.

Metaplugin allows sidechaining with VST plugins by using one instance of Metaplugin to send audio, another instance of Metaplugin to receive the audio and then route the received audio into the sidechain inputs of VST plugins. I have tested this in my old video editor (Vegas Pro, which also did not have any sidechaining capabilities built in) and it works fine without any pops or clicks.

I am using the latest version of Resolve (18.1.1), I have tried changing audio drivers in Resolve from the default System Audio to ASIO and maxed out the audio buffer size with no improvement. Is there anything else I can try to fix this issue? My audio interface is an Audient iD14.

The pops only appear in the received signal, the original signal doesn't have any pops in it. If I turn the volume down on the received volume, then the audio clicks go away.

I'm considering purchasing Metaplugin just for VST sidechaining in Resolve while it's still on sale for the next couple days (the sale ends on the 5th), but I want to make sure it will work properly in Resolve before purchasing. If BMD is planning on adding VST sidechaining in the near future, then I'll certainly wait for that instead, because Metaplugin is far form an ideal solution and it would be best for Resolve to handle this natively.
