A couple of quick questions...
a. Did you download Davinci Resolve Studio from the Blackmagic Design website? Or the Mac App Store?
b. Can you add some detail on your setup - iMac hardware config, peripherals, macOS version number, Resolve version number, any other unusual setup detail? Please take a look at the FAQs to see what other info can help. The aim is to figure out what makes your iMac/Resolve setup different from the multiple testing platforms we have for macs, including the latest iMacs.
Please also add any observations you may have - like if you see the screen for activating your Studio app, or the project manager, if it happens when loading specific projects etc.
While you're on the FAQs, please take a look at the Logs and Posting and Contacting Support sections, to see how to generate a log archive and an SPX file. You can add them to a file sharing service/website, create a shareable link and paste a URL here. If the forum moderation complains about new users and URLs, please add spaces in the URL - like www dropbox com/s/blabla?share=true.
