18.1.1 - M1 Max - No H264/H265 Export

PostThu Dec 08, 2022 11:18 pm

I'm on an M1 Max Macbook with 18.1.1 and recently stopped being able to export H264 and H265 files out of deliver page.

ProRes renders fine.

Not a lot has changed on the system other than the 18.1.1 update. I did install shutter encoder.

Has anyone else been experiencing this behavior? The software locks up when I hit render, and nothing is exported, the clock just keeps going up and up and up.

Going to test, and maybe clean install tomorrow.

Does Shutter Encoder work for H.264 or 265? Are you using Ventura?
No, an iGPU is not enough, and you can't use HEVC 10 bit 4:2:2 in the free version.

I have both Ventura 13.0.1 and a recent Shutter Encoder and haven’t noticed a problem with h264 / h265 export.

Well, he wrote it's DR's export. I was trying to narrow down the problem with my questions.
I'm not using Ventura, and I have no issues with rendering.

Hi guys,

I'm on the latest monterey version. However, this must have just been some user config file that went bad.

I re-installed this morning and all is working great again. H265 and 4 exports rip super fast again. All is good.

Shutter encoder is great too for fixing variable frame rate footage, but it doesn't seem related.

All fixed.
