I can't mute some clips

PostThu Dec 08, 2022 9:14 pm

Im fairly new to this editing suite. I'm trying to line up live concert footage with a studio version of the same song. Needless to say I need to turn the audio tracks on and off frequently. I keep coming across a problem where a clip randomly will not mute. Its extremely frustrating and I have tried going into the inspector, I've learned all the track controls. The track will say its muted but the sound is playing anyway.

Any suggestions welcome.

Thank you!

Open the Mixer on the Edit page and use that to Mute tracks.

Do you ever see the meters moving on a Muted track?

Hi Jim!
Thank you for this suggestion, I have not had this problem since.
In your biases you talk about training. I have been working through the training offered by Davinci. Do you have any other suggestions

I haven't tried any training other than the BMD materials myself.

For free on YT there are Darren Mostyn and Cullen Kelly. They know their stuff and everything they publish will be useful for you sooner or later.
Paid tutorials? I like the ones by Rippletraining. Of course, the basic ones are overlapping with BM’s to some degree, but have a look at their advanced ones.
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.
