Renders suddenly crashing or taking too long

So prior to the newest update, I had no issues with renders, but for some reason this past two projects renders have been acting really strangely. For a previous 40 minute render, Resolve would crash randomly with no error code. I ended up finding a way around it. For this 20 second clip, Resolve keeps stopping in place at a fusion transition and the render time would keep adding up with no end in sight.
How can I fix this? The only things I've changed are updating Resolve and upgrading my RAM from 32 to 64.

Have you checked your scratch disc? A similar thing happened to me a while ago and it was full, but there were no error indications.

Can you give some information about your system (pc, Mac ?), hardware specs (ram ecc ?, gpu ?), DaVinci Resolve (studio or not), media type (raw, h.264 ?).
This could help to understand.
Have a look in the manual to check options you're using, sometimes things become more clear.
