Slip edit without moving speed points

PostFri Feb 03, 2023 5:59 pm

Hi all!
I'm quite new to Resolve and I come from a couple of years working on Premiere.
I tend to use a lot of speed ramping for my videos and what I found handy in Premiere is the ability to select a different portion of the source footage for a clip while keeping the ramps in place.
I couldn't find the same thin in Resolve, since when I try to use either the slip tool or I slide the in-out points in the clip preview the speed points slides as well.

P.S. I tried to Google it and search it on this forum but I couldn't find any meaningful result (maybe I just used the wrong keywords, not a native english speaker I'm afraid!).

Thank you!

I couldn't find a way.

But the Speed Points are easy enough to move holding down CTRL.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Hello,

I'm really new to Davinci (2 days). I discovered the speed points and they are quite convenient but I have a problem. I guess it's the same as yours : I want to move a speed point (upper handle that is corresponding to the frame ) without changing the ones on the right (further in time).
I try CRTL/Alt and usual key, but nothing affect them.

Jim Simon : What do you means by " But the Speed Points are easy enough to move holding down CTRL." ?
When I press CTRL, it changes nothing. What is the expected result ?

Thanks
Ben

The easiest way for the OP is to copy and paste the speed attributes.

Ctrl-C copy, then make your clip change, then paste attributes. The original speed will then be pasted to the adjusted clip.
