I think this is a simple issue to fix but I am very green to masking/rotoscoping etc so hopefully somebody can help!
I have a clip that has bunch of cables in the background that I need to get rid of-halfway into the clip my subject goes in front of the cables. My 'solution' was to clone out all the cables a copy of the clip and have this as a 'clean background' so to speak. I then masked and tracked the subject and had them on the video above. Unfortunately this has not worked as you can see(red circle shows clone brush marks I think). Is this a bad way to approach this problem or the right way to approach and bad execution?! I created the mask in colour on the top video and the cloning does on btm video in fusion.
Many thanks for your help in advance Mark

Sounds like bad execution, how exactly did you place the roto’ed fg over the fixed bg? In Fusion, on the timeline etc? Show your nodegraph and/or timeline layout.
If you could provide the info I pointed out already in my first post, it would be helpful. No-one can say anything useful about what you did if you don't show and describe what exactly you did.
