Student Price for Davinci Resolve Studio

PostFri Mar 24, 2023 6:08 pm

Hello. I am a student living in Izmir, Turkey. I am studying at Ege University. I am using Davinci Resolve. But I want to use the full version. I want to use it in fusion. But Turkey's economic situation is very bad and your price is too expensive for a student living in Turkey. Please offer a special discount for students. I want to use Davinci Resolve Studio and I want to improve myself in this regard. I want to be a successful video editor and Colorist. Waiting for your reply to my message.

Kind regards.

I think students should be able to get by quite nicely using the free version. Don't most of the "studio" functions still work but simply produce a watermark on the free version? If that's the case then there's no real problem because being a student is about learning and the watermark should not matter unless you're trying to sell the exported footage.

Also, when compared to the alternatives, Resolve is so cheap that it's still a lower cost than the "student" packages offered by many other vendors.
Resolve 18.1 Studio, Fusion 9 Studio
CPU: i7 8700, OS: Windows 10 32GB RAM, GPU: RTX3060

Resolve will almost certainly be the least expensive tool you need to do this job.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

The free version has more features than most paid versions from others in that price range.
You’ll probably not have used all of them during your time of studies.
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

And then, this is a user forum. Such a question should be addressed to sales.

Friends, you say that it is not very expensive compared to others. Almost all other apps have student discounts. or 1 year of free support. 1$ = 19 Turkish Lira. That's why I meant expensive :). I apologize to you for living in Turkey ^^. Thanks.
