License plate blur does not work! Help please! :)

PostSat Mar 25, 2023 3:01 pm

Is blur tracking a paid feature (Studio) and not part of the free version? I've watched every YouTube video but when I click on the Blur Tab in Color my Power Window disappears and I can't blur out the object! Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thank you so much!

I would approach this in Fusion, myself. Have you had any Fusion training yet?

My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

I have not done any formal training in fusion so far, mostly beginners YouTube tutorials. I didn't know Fusion was the place to do the license plate edits.

Is it possible the node is being bypassed? That's the only thing I can think of that would cause this. In some cases, I use the Highlight mode to show me the window when I'm doing different things, and I toggle that on and off to confirm the window is there, whether in a Blur palette or Primaries or whatever. It does work -- I just used it tonight about 30-40 times (skin de-shine for me, tracked in a face window).

It's not the only way, just my preference.

But...I have heard it said that YouTube tutorials may not be the best approach to Resolve.

Do the official training. It's worth the time. ;)
