Removing timecode display when using blade

PostSun Mar 26, 2023 3:49 pm

As you can see in the picture below, when using the blade on the Edit page to cut audio a timecode display appears blocking view of the audio track making it difficult to locate the exact location where you want to cut. I was wondering if there was any way to disable the timecode display.

Thanks.

John

There is not.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Not seeing this in Windows. If I move the blade icon to the lower part of the track the time display moves below it and out of the way. I've circled the zoom setting I was using.

Not seeing this on the Mac either. The time display moves with the cursor. So when the clip rectangle is high enough, one can move the time diplay up or down away from the wave display.

While we're at it, there's a little bug here: When the mouse hovers over the volume line, the razor icon changes to an up-down icon, which is OK; but when moving the mouse away from the volume line, the cursor changes to a normal mouse pointer instead to the razor icon.

The time code box will always be below and to the right of the blade icon. If you hold it carefully at the very bottom of the audio in the Timeline as you are using it you can continue to see the waveforms. If the blade is in any other position on the time line other than at the every bottom of the track the waveform is covered.

If you increase the height of the track you are working on you won't have that problem. Also, try using non rectified waveforms.

I see that sometimes. Not every time.

I guess that's the very reason you and I don't have that problem. We use non-rectified waveforms :-)
These rectified waveforms are covered indeed.

As for the razor icon bug: On my Mac the razor won't reappear if I hover over the volume line for more than 5 milliseconds or so. It will reappear when the mouse exits and enters the audio clip area.
