Does free version support format that is 10 bits?

PostTue Mar 28, 2023 7:44 pm

On a discussion over on FB and I was under the impression that no 10 bit footage was supported in the free version. Is there any 10 bit media that is supported in the free version? Or is that for the studio version only?

10 bit 264/5 is unsupported. The free version supports all intermediate 10 bit formats. The h.264/5 restrictions may be a bit different for Mac, I don't recall.

They just fixed the supported codec document

Dnxhr HQX (12 bit) I what I recommend free users on windows transcode their 10 bit h.265 footage too.

On the Mac, all levels of ProRes are supported too if you want to
preserve quality.
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.
