[Bug] Everything is gone

PostThu Mar 30, 2023 11:01 am

Sitting all day making the transition. I closed the program, went to eat. I come back, start the program. All the data, all the expressions, all the nodes, everything is just gone. This problem, as I noticed, appeared around version 18 of the program. This is not the first time I've had this glitch. It is very frustrating. The only thing left is the first node that I added and changed its name.

I already had the same issue with all colors values in nodes f*cked up. It was a bug regarding DaVinci on Linux only. I just closed / reopened the project.

Maybe you can find a previous automatic backup?

Fortunately, I still have some expressions in the Notepad, but the main part, which I spent about 15 hours in total, just disappeared.

Not excusing any bug Tymur, but given you say this happened to you before, you might want to start copying your node tree to a text file, for safety when you are pausing with a work in progress. Nobody wants to lose that much work.

Hope this bug gets fixed.

Are you on the latest release? Somewhere around I think 18.3 or 18.0.3 they claimed to have fixed the bug that would basically delete everything in your project. I think it is fixed now as I haven't had it happen since earlier versions of 18. But when it did happen, it wasn't like a normal crash. I had been exporting drps on the hour every hour and things seemed to be working fine. Turned off, came back to it in the morning and the project was blank. Rolled back to the prior drp. That was blank. And the next. And the next. These were all drps that were working fine the day before. So somehow this bug hides out and eats your data but shows your eaten data so you'll keep feeding it.

You talked about expressions.. is this Fusion or Color page nodes?
Do you have backups on? What do they show?
Do you have any stills captured from clips that were done, what do they show?

Stills captured from clips refers to the Color page, which doesn't apply, now that we know you're in Fusion.

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
