Multi-Cam Clip Won't Apply Color Grades

I have a project with a multi-cam clip. It won't apply any clip color grades. If I put it in a group it will apply the group grades and it will also apply the timeline grades. I have a separate project with multi-cam clips that will accept clip color grades just fine. I cannot figure out what the difference is between these 2 projects.

If I flatten the multi-cam clip it will then accept clip color grades.

This is not in reference to noise reduction but just changes to color wheels, contrast etc...

Any idea why the one project won't apply clip color grades to a multi-cam clip?

Apparently closing and reopening the project fixed the issue.
