The pc version is in the resolve installer and requires a resolve license. No plans for Android as yet.

Hello, I'm testing the screen transferred from Remote Montior to my cell phone, and the contrast and brightness of the screen on the monitor and the display are different, I'm using iPhone 14 Pro, I hope I can check what the problem is.

Does it work for anybody?
I get a "Connection timed-out" message on several devices, the host is on MacOS 12.6.

If my clients want to use Remote Monitor on their laptop or macbook do they have to buy DRStudio license?

18.5 release notes, under Descriptions > Remote Monitoring Improvements in Studio:
The Remote Monitoring app on Mac, Windows and Linux requires a license activated version of DaVinci Resolve Studio on the same machine.

Does it also need a paid Blackmagic cloud account? It is asking me for my credentials.

Thanks

Is there a plan to support AMD GPUs as well?

+1 for amd support. It does have onboard h264 and h265 decoder\encoder, it allows to stream in OBS and other software. Nothing special, just weird to have different experience for users with differend hardware (not worse class, but other manufacturer).
At least let us know ther any any timeframe or we shots abandond AMD already?

Seriously? No plans? Android has 71% world market share and you have "no plans"?

Why aren't there plans for an Android version?
I'm sure there are plenty of DR users that have Android phones.

I'd love to use this feature on my Samsung. :)

so is there no way for anyone to access this on a webpage? like they sign into a black magic cloud account online and there is the session i sent to them? also it was unclear by previous post, does client need the studio license to get the remote monitor app on pc or windows or as long as i have the studio liscence its all good. wish there was an easy way to use this with clients on computer without the need to download any sowftware. it adds red tape to them with helpdesk and IT

I'm trying to connect Remote Monitor from one iMac to one iPhone and between both iMacs and in all cases, the connection fail or directly crashes to the apps

These are the iMac's specifications:

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017)
4,2 GHz Intel Core i7 de 4 núcleos
Radeon Pro 575 4 GB
BigSur

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2020)
3,8 GHz Intel Core i7 de 8 núcleos
Radeon Pro 575 4 GB
AMD Radeon Pro 5500 XT 8 G
BigSur

It's something wrong?

Thanks

I can only imagine an Android version is harder/impossible because of the myriad range of hardware that Android runs on, it'd be impossible to guarantee decent colour reproduction as opposed to iPhones/iPads where you know exactly what each device displays, but what I'm really stunned about is how Apple users just get it for free with an app, but Windows users have to have a full Resolve Studio licence?!

That's absolutely insane. Explain how that is fair and reasonable.

I'm another +1 for Android support, I want to be able to see what grades look like on different devices and I am not in the Apple ecosystem.

so is it possible to have this installed as a standalone software so they clients don't need a resolve license? that way I with a liscence can share a link with code and downloader. even better if it came from Blackmagic directly in the key send

This is my request too. Makes zero sense that I would have to get a client to install the full studio version just to access the remote monitoring app. Why is this not standalone? Seems like a bit of an oversight to me

+1 for android
+1000 for standalone app for osx / windows

I am an Android owner… and I can sort of understand how there isn't an Android app, at least for now. The Android ecosystem is more of a mess, with many devices and display performance tiers.

What did make me flip is the desktop (laptop) situation… Not only there's no Monitor macOS app on the Apple app store (nor a Windows app); not only do you have to download the entire 7GB Resolve installer; not only you have to install the entire thing; you need a Resolve Studio license per viewer! :o

Looking at the iPhone/iPad deployment demands vs. laptops… it seems as if these are two completely different products from different companies.

It is a very promising function, but I'd still call it in beta due to how impractical it is to get actual producers on it.

The ability to install a simple and free standalone version of Remote Monitor on client's desktop computers is mandatory for this feature to be really useful. And it is useful in many situations in which you can do or not do a job because of client distance...
The mobile option is fine for a "meet-the-deadline" scenario, but to work remotely with clients we need a simple, user-friendly, user-installable piece of software.
Don't forget we already have to teach clients how to get a Blackmagic Cloud free account, so they can input the session code...

Nobody from BMD can address the question if other GPU manufacturers will be supported for this function?

Making Davinci Remote Monitoring a standalone app for clients would be a game changer. It seems like it would be an easy thing for BMD to do. Hope they're listening!

So excited just to have my expectations crushed as this is such a meaningless update ...

I was expecting to be able to stream from my PC with an AMD GPU ... still nothing in sight about this.
