Hi All
I have a fresh Windows 10 install with new RX 7900 XT.
As soon as I play back footage in Resolve the Vram from the card fills within seconds and then overflows into RAM until the RAM fll sup and crashes my system, either Resolve crashes rr my system BSOD with Memory Mangement error.
I am guessng its an AMD driver issue incombination with Resolve.
Has anyone encountered and know a stable driver to use?
Running Resolve 18.1.3, the issue also occurs on 18.1.1 and I updated to 18.1.3 to see if it resolved the problem.
Thanks
Ciaran

If your system BSODs it might not be a GPU problem but a RAM problem. Adrenalin drivers are very sensitive to RAM issues especially on AMD systems where the RAM is also tied to the Infinity Fabric.
Is your RAM using XMP? If yes, I'd disable that as a first step and see if the problem reoccurs.
Is fast startup enabled in Windows? If yes, remove that. Fast startup and new drivers don't mix well.
Is your GPU powered via separate cables from the PSU or the same cable? If its one cable, daisy chained, try using separate cables. New GPUs have current spikes that might trigger a BSOD using a daisy chained cable.
Also, check if Windows Update hasn't installed one of its weird Adrenalin drivers and overwritten your install.
I'm still on 18.0.3 because I need the Black Sun highlight fix that's not available on the newest versions and on Adrenalin 22.10.3 because I never had the need to update and Resolve works fine.
Try these before trying an older Adrenalin version.

Actually, I think the problem is Adrenalin 23.4.2 driver. After installing it, memory filled up like crazy and Resolve would freeze in a blink. Recommend you uninstall and install 23.4.1 instead, seems to have fixed the situation at least on my computer!

Yes you are right!
I logged on to report that I rolled back the driver to 23.3.2 just as you suggested.
Thanks so much for the help!
Problem solved!
Cheers
Ciaran

Hello
I also had issues going from 23.4.1 to 23.4.2.
Rolling back to 23.4.1 made the problem disappear.
Next update, I will uninstall anyway properly old driver first with Uninstaller. This time, I did it the dirty way.

Finally upgraded to Studio 18.5 Beta.
Positive point is that it works fine with last driver version 23.4.3 (Graphic card : Sapphire PULSE 7900 XT).

Must be a weird release then.
It only brings some games support (23.4.3 included) so not sure its worth updating.
If the old one works fine, stick with it.
22.10.3 is very stable for my 6800XT.
