Gray When Paused, Normal When Previewing, Gray When Exported

I'm not sure why this is happening, but when I'm paused, the effects go away and cover the clip with a gray overlay. Unfortunately, it's also gray when exported. What's going on here?

The grayness seems to be caused by the Stylize plugin I am using on a compound clip, inside of which is a png with a transparent background, sandwiched between two .mov files (one on top of the png, one underneath the png). The plugin’s global mix settings are key-framed to go from 0-100. I’m using the “Dance” setting.

The error is visible on the editing and delivery pages.

Project settings are 4k 2160p at 29.97fps

I'm on an iMac Pro 2017 running Mac OS Ventura
