Well, this might be an underpowered system problem, it might be an OS problem, it might be an insufficent RAM problem, it might be a "too many plug-ins" issue. Could be lots of things.

You can turn off Audio Plug-ins selectively by going into User Preferences -> Audio Plug-Ins, and then turning off everything you don't really need.



I think I own somewhere north of 250 audio plug-ins, but (for Resolve) I disable them all just so they don't get in the way. I use them instead for Pro Tools, which works better for the way I work -- it's an individual choice.

For the record, it takes me 5 seconds to launch Resolve and get to the Project Manager, and then maybe another 2-10 seconds to open up a project, depending on how complicated it is. A 1-minute project with 2 or 3 timelines opens in an instant; if I had a 2-hour feature with 20 different timelines and multiple versions, it could take awhile.

I think that may be low. I have all the Waves plug-ins, all the iZotope Studio plug-ins, all the Universal Audio plug-ins, a bunch of Sony Oxford plug-ins, some Nugen plug-ins, the PSP plug-ins... it never ends.
